I own a 2001 C240. My windshield wipers have decided to park themselves perpendicular to their normal resting position. They rest vertical on the windshield instead of horizontal under the hood. They still work, but they park themselves on the winshield. Is there a fix for this problem? I would appreciate if you could advise me of a fix. Thank you, Bill

 

I have a 2003 C 240 with exactly the same problem. In the beginning the wipers would park in a vertical position, then after while they would start parking normally in a horizontal position, but now they always stop in a vertical position, I have also noticed that the wipers don't move when I turn the switch on the first speed, they work perfectly on the second and third speed, though. The dealer told me that it could be the windshield wipers' transmission, which would cost $700 to put a new one, but I don't believe them, so lets hope that someone will give us a real advice.
