I wonder if someone could help. I have a c240 w202 in which the engine does for no obvious reason.
It only happens when the engine is hot. The bas light will flicker and the car will splutter and stall. It will restart and then die. If left for a while it will restart and drive as if nothing has happened. Can happen at any speed.
Already changed crank sensor, camshaft sensor, air flow meter, and checked all earths etc.
If I try to accelerate when this happens the car still stalls but on restarting I get a rotten egg smell. I have let it idle in the drive for over an hour and it's fine, only seems to happen when driven.

Please help?

 

Rotten eggs smell leads me to think you have a catalytic converter issue.
