C230Kompressor valves! If you have this car READ!
I have a 2005 Mercedes C230 Kompressor Sport . A few weeks ago I made a post about an engine light, which illuminated after a "stoplight drag" with a Honda S2000. The car ran funny a few minutes after the light first illuminated. After a few stop and starts the car ran fine. I took it to the dealer that Monday and the service manager told me that they had more than a few C230 Kompressor in for the same reason. He told me that the valve springs werent strong enough to withstand redline shifts and they had to be replaced. They also replaced my passenger side airbag. So if you have this car please take it in for service.

I won the race as the person driving the S2000 either missed a gear or just didnt know how to drive it. I know the S2000 is faster because I have a 2002 S2000, with a good driver I would have gotten crushed.
Anyway, my car is a black/black 2005 C230 Sport sedan with the 6 speed manual. It has about 16,000 miles on the clock. Ran fine untill that night. The technician told me that the valvesprings were to weak and that he has seen alot of these come in lately. It was covered under warranty so I had no out of pocket exspense. He also said that I had a lot of carbon buildup, and yes I use good gas.
He also replaced the passenger side airbag. It actually runs better now and is more willing to rev, better pickup at virtually any speed. Gets slightly better gas milage.

i think that it is not something that all the cars have. I remember speaking with someone on the form who has the same car at 65000 miles and no engine problems
