My rear defroster was really slow it took about 40 min to start seeing some really good results after fogged window...i took it to the dealer since car had warranty and they told me that the rear window defroster lines were damaged due to aftermarket tint being removed.

I bought car like this, the back window was not tinted just the sides. ( i dont know who removed the back tint) they gave me quote $870 to replace the rear window.

I saw defroster lines that look faded on one spot and I assume that they have diagnosed it on that sopt for damage. can I try buying the rear defroster repair kit and see if that will work, are those defroster lines below factry mercedes tint?

 

i think that mercedes rear defrosts seems to be rather slow compared all the past cars ive owned. nissan worked great all ice off within minutes. GM worked great too, mercedes always seem very weak. had to push the rear defrost button numerous times to get it clear.

 

I see, thanks. i used multimeter on those defroster lines and I found spot that is bad. I bought the rear defroster repair kit will have to try making the broken connection and see if its better.
