PLEASE HELP !!
I recently bought a 1998 c230 85k miles ran perfect for a couple months now completely randomly it wont start taken it to 2 different mechanics who say there are "no codes" in the system and of course the problem is not repeatable. have seen dealer horror stories about this kind of problem spending thousands chasing the problem with no fix.
Please someone I need some hope -

In other words, does the starter spin?

 

Cranks, the starter spins, starter sounds fine but the engine doesn't start

 

If the engine turns over, it's either fuel delivery or spark.

My gut tells me it's an intermittent fuel problem.

My hunch is to start questioning the fuel pump/pressure.

Having said that, it's probably a spark problem. But I doubt it.

I'd diagnose it before I spent a penny replacing parts. Just my 2 cents.

 

I was thinking fuel delivery or spark plugs. Since it's random, sparkplugs would be the way to start.

Are there any problems driving?

 

I'll betcha a glazed donut and a large coffee it's not the spark plugs.
Usually.......plugs are either good enough to fire the car and work or not.
I smell a fuel problem.
