C230 Engine Question
Just bought a solid 2003 C230 Sport Sedan and am loving every minute of it. I am a little confused over the numbering system of the C series vs engine size. A c320 is a 3.2l V6, a c240 is a 2.4l v6, but is the c230 a 1.8l or a 2.3l supercharged 4 cly? I am a newbie and searched the forums to see if I could answer my question but came up empty. Any help is appreciated.
Also was curious to see if there was ever a non-sport C230 Kompressor sedan produced. Again Thanks!

The C230K is a supercharged 1.8 liter four cyl. and the C230K sedans were "sports".
I am not aware myself of a C230K sedan that's NOT a "Sport".
I wish I had a dollar for every time I've been wrong.

May I add that 2006 C-class cars have THREE V6 options, depending on which car you buy.
A 2.5 liter, a 3.0 liter, and a 3.5 liter......
I have only driven the 2.5......anybody driven or own the 2006 with the 3.5 liter?
Could we get your driving impression please???

I'm new to this forum, I just bought a 06 C350 w/ 6 speed. I previously had a 06 C230 w/ 6 speed as well, but i was able to trade it in for the C350. You must be asking yourself why i did that? Lucky MB has great resale value and i was able to trade it in for what i owed on it after only having it since march this year. I loved the C230, it had almost everything i was looking for, almost. The C350 has everything i want. All i can say when you turn off the ESP and punch it, you can light up the tires, something that the C230 had trouble doing. Driving around town and moderate speeds, the C350 feels exactly like the C230; smooth quiet etc.. but press that gas down a little more and you can feel it lurking beneath. every time i launch it up to redline i can't help but smile. Fuel MPG is almost the same as the C230 on freeway if you take it easy, average about 1-2 mpg less. You can say I am very happy with my decision. I'm actually glad i started with the C230 first, so i can appreciate that extra 67 hp, because it makes a BIG difference.

Alex, thanks for posting that. There may be a C350 in my future, but my recent experience with my C230K has numbed me a bit. I am also re-thinking the decision to buy the four cyl. supercharged '05. Cool car, but at 70K, it's starting to act up. Maybe I should burn some incense around it in the garage and play some soft music for it. Dunno.
Should be the life of the car. In my case, hopefully a rare one, it wasn't.
I think asking how long a car part will last is like asking how long a marriage will last.
Might be a lifetime. Might not.
