C230 2002 Kompressor MAF Question
The MAF is due to arrive tomorrow. I'm going to replace it tomorrow evening after work.
Here's a new thing that I notice when I drove during the weekend. As I was pulling into my garage , I hear a "hair dryer" kinda sound coming from my engine , it runs a couple second , stop and then continue doing so for about 3 times , by the time I pop the hood it stop doing so I can't figure out where the sound was coming from.
I'll post updates here after I replace the MAF tomorrow.

If your getting oil on your airmass you've need a oil seperator on top of valvecover and to clean out the intercooler and all airintake hoses of oil. Very common with that engine. The oil seperator is on top of the engine. ....just out of view on the pic you posted. Some cars don't have them. You'll see oil on the seperator and on he rubber hoses.

chassis221 : I'm not really familiar with the engine , I'll take a photo of the whole engine ( after work tonight ) and can you be so kind to point out what needs to be done ? I'm an "idiot" when it comes to my car engine.
Also what would you use to clean the oil ? Some sort of solvent ?
P/S I posted a picture of the engine where I found online. I'll post mine tonight. Can you use the grid to point out which one it is ? IE 7 from the left , 3 from the top ?

I just replace the MAF, and I found more oil deposit around the old MAF , not much but if you wipe it with a piece of cloth you can see the oil layer around it. I'm going to bring it to Autozone tomorrow to clear out the Error code and see wheter I still get it.
chassis221: Here's another pic of my car engine

After replacing the MAF sensor , I started the car and I heard some loud hissing sound coming from where the arrow is below for about 10 seconds and then it stopped. Is it normal ? On top of the hissing sound I can hear/feel air blowing from it.

So , my check engine light would not clear after 5 days of normal driving, and I brought it back to the mechanic to have it look at , and this time the following error code came out
P2036 Low Flow Secondary air injection
P2038 Charge pressure Low
The mechanic thinks it's the supercharger that's bad and he recommends replacing at $2000 ( new supercharger and 6 hours of labor at $111).
What do you guys think ? Should I replace it ? How common is the supercharger dying on the C230 Kompressor ? I have about 90,000 miles on the car right now.
