Good evening.

I am new to this forum and am looking for some information regards my retired uncles car. He has a 2008 C220 automatic, the car idles at 850-900 rpm and requires a little extra brake pressure when selecting drive, there is also a slight clunk during this operation. Previously he owned the 2004 model which idled at 700 rpm and there was no problem with selecting drive.

The Mercedes dealer (Chester) have had the car on diagnostics and their conclusion was that there is not a problem.

Could anybody advise me as to whether there is an issue here, has there been a known idle problem with this model etc.
