C220 cdi low power and hiss
Hi all, Im new to the forum. Have a problem with my Merc.
My C220 cdi 01 began to feel sluggish at take off from lights etc, wondered was I imagining it. Within another few minutes the sluggishness was very evident, then i realised that once it hits 20,000 revs there is a hissing coming from under the bonet (drivers side - so in Ireland that is the RHS). It struggled to make it up a gentle hill and at the top it emitted a lot of white fumes from the exhaust at the back of the car.
Now the car is almost not driving it is so slow.
My boyf (who is v into mechanics etc) had a good poke about under the bonet and says its not making a broken turbo rattle, so doesnt think that is it that. He couldnt find any loose tubing where air might be escaping either (at the air thingie or around the turbo).
We are all out of ideas.
Any suggestions/advice would be great.
Thanks
Sam
