Hi,

I've just taken a punt on a C220 CDi. She cost me £500 because she wont select reverse.

This is not the usual problem that I've read about where reverse is selected and there's little or no drive to the rear wheels - in this case the selector lever will not leave neutral or drive, so park or reverse cannot be selected.

In addition to this the battery is flat, so the central locking wont work. At some point the lock on the trunk has been changed, which I don't have a key for, so I can't get into the trunk to access the battery.

I figured I could put the positive lead of a jump pack on the starter to power up the car to use the central locking, but the starter seems inaccessible from the top of the engine....?

Any specialists out there got any ideas?

Try to find jamp start connector as one in picture. Even if you have key for trunk you wouldn't be able to unlock it. Key is only to disable unlocking trunk by remote or inside button ( valet lock )
