warning light for abs lights up for a few miles then goes out.any suggestions out there?

 

did u take ur dash out to replace a bulb?. if not>
this can happen from jamed up seat belt latches, as the abs unit checks these. maby clean them with something like a bit of crc in the plug, and blow them out with a air compressor, this could be your problem

There can also be a plug under the front seats than can come unpluged from one thing or another.
So move both your front seats right foward or backward and cheack out the cable under there and make sure everything is pluged in.
Watch out for CAPSLOCK also when posting ;-)

 

Just curious, C280, could you be confusing this with an SRS light coming on, because I don't understand how the seatbelts will make the light come on for the ABS system. Please excuse my ignorance and enlighten me.

(mental note: abs=anti lock brake system)
i am sorry for making your **** around with that man.
but u know now what to do if ur srs light comes on :-(

 

it happens to me many times too.

anyway, his problem could be as simple as speed sensor or different tires.

 

At least his seatbelts are nice and clean now. It's all about safety.

hi guys,
I own a C220 96 model. I took out the airbag module inorder to balance the steering wheel without disconnecting the battery. Later on when I was done and reconnected it the SRS light comes and stays on. Any help in resetting it. Thanks
