I’m about to buy a Mercedes C180/C200, year 1996-1999/2000. I’m new to this forum, and not quite familiar with Mercedes. Hence, I would like to get some basic advices whether any of these models are better than the other, any significant difference or are they basically the same in means of quality and basic equipment?

Any advices would be highly appreciated.

The c200 will have a tiny little bit more power than the c180. As far as fifferences go there wont be much it depends. one might be a classic. one might be and elegance in which case there are only subtle differences in interior ect.
Personal preference would be the c200.

Are you a first time Mercedes buyer? If you are not get all excited about the W202. I have a 2000 C280(same as the c180/c200 just larger motor) I have about 60,000 miles on mine and I have owned it for about a year and I am not too impressed with the build quality at all. I have ran itto some small prolbems such as dash lights comming up and braking interior peices. If you are going to buy any W202 get it inspected becasue otherwise it can problems. good luck
