Default on-board diagnostic connector location?

Hi,

I cannot locate the on-board diagnostic connector inside my 2002 C230 Kompressor Coupe...hope I am not getting blind or something!

Per manual it is located 'around' the parking brake pedal on the 'passenger side'. I am totally confused since all the brakes..controls are on driver side...anyways I just cannot locate it.

I need to connect the Actron scanner to check on the code for the MIL 'Check Engine'. Please help!

It is located under the driver side dash slightly left of the steering wheel. It has a cover that fold down. Hopes this helps.

Hi,

Thanks to DJ G-Spot I was able to finally connect the Actron autoscanner which returned code P0128 - "Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temp Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature)".

From another forum (BMW) a member had this to share about the same issue " had this fixed yesterday. pretty easy fix by the dealer by just replacing the thermostat assembly (cheap part also) . it also required a coolant flush."

As regards Mercedes, anyone out there with a similar issue that was fixed? Just wanted to see if I'd rather hand it over to the dealer to fix this along with my slightly overdue Service B. Any comments..experiences to share ..advice?
