Hello all, i am having acceleration problems with my C220 CDI 4 door saloon, 53 reg, i can accelerate just near normal to about 30-40 mph. but after that it does not accelerate properly especially when i am driving up hill, down hill it does accelerate but not properly, i used to be able to put my foot down n the car would accelerate noramlly but now when i do that it hardly moves and alot of black smoke just comes out. Please someone help me. Thank you.

 

Sounds like something is messed up with your mixture. Could be a fuel deliver problem or it could be a problem with some sensors. Can you run some codes? My guess is the car is running super rich, but this is all speculation. How much black smoke actually comes out? If it's just noticeable, it could be rich. If it's black, I would suggest there might be another problem.

 

i think it may be a mixture problem, gettin it checked soon, alot of smoke comes out, n i mean alot, to the point where the cars behind slow down coz they cant see in front, so not safe for me to drive all the time, thanks for your comments
