I drive a 2000 C280 Sport and i was thingin about trading up in a few years. They look great and the performance is amazing. I saw the first ones being loaded onto the lot at Mercedes of Sarasota and i fell in love with it. Great car and if your in the market for it i would get one.

Thanks, I assume you are referring to C300 sport right?. I just wanted to get some opinion on this car from current owners. I wish I had done that when I bought my 2001 C320; it had several known electrical problems, such as ... I have to replace my tail, break, turn lights every few months or so (MB dealer replaced the electrical harness but still does same thing), the power sliding window randomly decides to play (goes up and down like a crazy fool) when you open or close... and I hate the stupid rain sensor which is extremely annoying besides you cant disable the stupid thing!, last but not least, right now, it makes 8 clicking noise when you start the car for 45 sec or so which several folks in this forum experienced
So, I just wanted to make sure the C300 sport doesn't have any known issues. You are correct, it is a great looking car.

Well, the pride of owning a Mercedes is a myth, it is a car with constant expensive problems during and as soon as the warranty expires. It is not worth the agravation, look elsewhere, it has very expensive service requirements that are totally out of line with the competition, everything and anything for the C will be $500.00 minimum, look at a Hyundai Sonata instead, for about 64% of the price you get a longer warranty, an inexpensive service schedule during the warranty, and best of all, it is the very first disposable car after the warranty expires. Compare all costs and by the time the Mercedes is out of warranty, the Sonata will give you 4 more years and then just bring it to the cemetery, no need to haggle on itstrade in value, it is $0. But during the course of ownership (120k miles) the Mercedes will have the exact same amount asits purchase price spent in parts and repairs ( purchase price $38,000, + estimated service costs 10 years $38K = $76K. Hyundai $23k price+ service $14k = $37k. Its is a no brainer.

Ya Hyundai 10 year 100,000 milebumper to bumper LIMITED WARRANTY. My uncle has an 06 Sonata and that has ben nothing but trouble also(brakes, check engine light, ac and electrical failers. Also my friendhas an 04Hyundai Tiburon V6and its slow as can be and it has to be the worst example of a poor mans Ferrari i have ever seen. I have owned over 6 Mercedes in my life and the only real problems that i have ever had was the AC not working in my 1987 300SD and thats only because it had about 167,000 miles on it.

Even if you are not 100% sure of a Mercedes-Benz then the next car i would recomend is a GM. Buick, Cadillac or Chevy. Probibly the best and stronest cars on the road and unlike the Hyundai the GM warranty it is 10 year 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty.
