Swede - MB 190D 2,5 turbo project
Here's my 1988 190D with 2.5 turbo engine. Imported to Sweden from Germany in 1998 with the following options:
Auto trans
Cruise control
Manual sunroof
Manual windows
Power lock
Color is smoke silver #702
For the moment it sits at a friends shop for maintance and rust removal I been working as an auto tech for over 20 years (8 in Dallas Texas) but these days i'm running my own towing company so i don't have much time to work on my cars.
Will be a full paint job after the rust been taking care of, and i'm replacing both front fenders.
What to do and what's been done:
Engine oil + filter
Transmission fluid + filter
Airfilter
Dieselfilter
Power steeringfilter
Replace glow plugs
Rear axle fluid
Replace right front wheel bearing
Replace right front ABS sensor
Adjust and grease left front wheel bearing
Replace drivebelt tensioner
Replace drivebelt
Fixing rust left, damn forgot the name in english
Replace both front fenders
Painting whole car (in process as we speak)
State Inspection

Before pictures:
Found a front armrest in the right fabric on ebay germany.
Here is my towtruck and look what i drove to the junkyard
The rear spoiler fits much better on my car, right?
And my powerlock vacuum pump is defekt so the junkcar had to surrender it's to me
This junkcar was sold brand spanking new to the US ambassy in Stockholm, why would the US Ambassy buy a small MB 190 2.0?
Here's a picture of the thing i forgot the english name on? Anyway it's fixed now, had a huge hole in it.
Stay tuned more to come

Got a junk 190 2.0E for free as a parts car, nice when you have your own tow truck
Stripped for paint, keeping the stock #702 smoke silver.
The paint recepies there are both fine silver and extra fine silver because it's metallic color.
My painter are going to replace the fine silver with a more course silver so the paint be more metallic look.
