2005 C230K Check Engine Ligh
Hi, new here. Thought I might get an answer.
My 2005 C230K has had problems with the check engine light going on ever since I purchased it. Frankly, I am tired of having the same problem. I regularly maintain the car with service. I have had it check several times and had diagnostics ran on it each time it comes up (which is now about 6 times). Once I was told it was the thermostat-had it replaced. Then a month later it came back on. Took it to a different dealership, was told that it was gas cap and the entire mechanism-had that replaced. It came back on within a few months. Took it in another time, they couldn't tell me what was wrong and cleared it-needless to say, it came back up. With so many different answers, time, money I am out of options and do not want to pay AGAIN for someone to tell me something different, I fix it and no solution. Any thoughts?? How do I clear it on my own?

My wife's 2005 C230K engine check light recently illuminated and I intend to take it in for service. We bought her car brand new and has been in storage for 3 years, and driven the last 2 years. The car only has 14K miles, so my best guess is an oxygen sensor. The engine runs perfect, great acceleration. The car has only had its 'A' service about a year ago. I will let you know what I find out after I take it in.
