Default 2002 mercedes benz c230 kompressor brake light issues

2002 mercedes benz c230 kompressor, the brake lights stay on when car is running without the pedal being, pressed. Any idea what this could be please let me know thanks, checked brake light switch, fuses good

This fault is 99.9% of the time caused by the brake light switch. There are two sides to the brake light switch, one controls your lights and one controls the input to the ESP/ABS. Make sure you tested it properly!

take out the brake switch and push the button manually and see if your brake lights go on and off. if they do then problem could be the metal tab that the switch hits on the brake pedal....they can get bent fairly easily if someones been up in there for some reason. also make sure the bulbs are correct and the bulb housing is not defective.. maybe a bad brake booster it also has some sensors in it....i think on this year.
