Sup guys,

I'm about to purchase an '02 C230 Kompressor hatchback with 92,000 miles on it and was just wondering what were the common problems of this model?

I'm getting it for about $7k and definitely don't wanna be spending a couple thousand on top.

Is this year pretty reliable?

Any feedback would be a big help 'cause I don't personally know anyone with this model.

MY 2002 was the first year in Canada and the 192 HP supercharged engine was only in the car for one year then it was changed in subsequent MYs. I've owned the car since brand new but have only put 45,000km (28,000m) on it. For the first six months the car had a mess of little warranty issues but none with the engine or drivetrain. Mine fires right up and runs like a top. The supercharger is noisy on startup until the car warms up. Gas mileage isn't the greatest but mine is strictly a city car. It passes all emissions tests when required and still looks great despite its outdoor parking spot. It isn't driven at all in the winter. Its only had one battery four years ago.
Hopefully others with higher mileage will chime in. The panoramic roof, leather seats and BOSE radio are great features. Mine does NOT have the Evolution package - clue - door handles are body colour.
