Hello everyone, I just bought the above and have no sound coming from the radio. Let me elaborate. The display seems to be functioning fine, changing am-fm, etc but there is no volume what so ever. I push cd and it says no cd changer when there is and it seems to be intact. I put a cd in and tried it but same result. Its also says no phone when I push the phone button also.
Now here's the strange part, I have the orignal window sticker and someone has taken a pen and marked out the $2100 MB phone option??? Did they take out the phone and disable the radio? Its not asking for a code, the display indicates all is fine (I guess)... Thanks in advance for any help !!!

 

if your system uses D2B and the telephone module is faulty/removed... then there will be no communication with the CD changer, no phone and no sound either.

 

OK, thanks. that gives me a place to start. How do I find this out? Where's this piece located, I'll look for it. If I had to buy a replacement, about how much would it be? I'm going to call the dealer back tomorrow, he should back this, (I hope). Thanks alot

well, your car is not fitted with cel phone and cd changer from factory.

you got sound system and e-call.

you can install tel and cd changer but it will be a set.

 

Thanks for leg work sleepwalker. Its does have a genuine MB 6 disc inside the glove box, so that must have been installed after I guess. The dealer said they'll take care of it, spoke with them this morning.

 

that's right. it only needs repair since they install original retrofit equipment.
