I am new to the site and a fairly ne MB owner.
I have an issue with a rough idle and engine light on. the searches I have seen show possbililites ranging from motor mounts( this is not the problem) to coils?
This is a 6 cylinder engine with 95000 miles. Just an immediate problem with rough idle.
also, I unhooked the battery and cleaned the terminals- now the turn signals , windshield wipers etc do not work?
wow..

I have owned Mercedes since 1979 and a good piece of advice is dont work on them. Let your Mercedes dealer or specialist take a look at it for you. Take your car in the minute you think or know something is wrong.

Thanks for the advice
got a new sam computer in the front
replaced the coil number 5 cylinder
900 dollars poorer...
this is a ridiculous car to own
I have put hundreds of thousands of miles on cars and never had to tkae them to the dealer for anything. I guess I am not qulaified to own a mercedes..LOL
runs fine now![Smile](https://mercedesforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Now have another miss
number 2 coil was the suspect- same as before only different cylinder...changed the coil and she still a missin'
gotta go back to the shop again.
a 40,000 dollar car ought to NOT have issues at 95 K
I had an old ratty jeep cherokee go 200, a 93 ford diesel go 410, 2 ford 6 cylinders go 250 plus.
I have a chevy with 150 and a super duty ford currently with many miles and no problems
again, i must be too poor to own this car..!
