Ladies and Gents,
I have a 2000 C230 Kompressor and after sitting for a week in my garage I noticed a fairly large oil spot under the car. The oil level is low and I got an oil change about two months ago. I attached a picture of the general area where the leak is coming from. I checked the oil pan and there isn’t much evidence that oil is leaking around the plug but there is a lot of oil around the areas I have marked in red on the black "pan" looking part aft of the oil pan. Can someone tell me what this part is and what is above it? Does anyone have suggestions on steps I could take to deduce this problem?
Thanks so much!!!

If the fluid is dark red/ brown it is the trans electrical connector seal/socket.. Very common problem...see the black and brown electrical connector??....there is a rubber 0-ring type seal on the inside of the connector...the seal is part of the socket...u can pick up the socket at the dealer for around $40, it comes with a new seal. recommend having the fluid level checked after repair..
