2 Quick questions if anyone could share some insight
Hey all, First off let me say hello. New to the boards. Tried doing a search but didn't find anything direct. I have 2 questions:
Current vehicle is a 2006 c230
1 is that my check engine light came on and it won't come off, believe its could i put a mid grade gas, is there a way to reset the sensor, other than taking a node of the battery?
2. I have had the car for maybe 2-3 months, and when i turn on the AC i get a weird smell that goes away soon after? Would fix be going into the filter near battery and doing something to it?
Thanks again guys,
George

Hey.
1 - AutoZone will read it and reset it for you. You need to know what the fault code is, not just turn it off. Mid-grade gas won't turn it on. The ignition timing would get retarded if there was engine knocking from the gas.
2 - I'd check the filters and also spray some mold/mildew killer into the intake ducts. Get some at AutoZone when you get the fualt code addressed.

They do it for free on OBDII cars. They expect you to buy their parts or services to make necessary repairs. Maybe you will, maybe you won't. There's no contract. It's a goodwill thing on their part.

It should still be under warranty so y not go back to the dealer and if u dont like the one u bought it at go to another. Unless there a good distance away then i understand. But once again this goes back to what i have said many times y are these cars having problems German over engineering is what now German under engineering?

You have to drop it off at the dealer. AutoZone will do it pretty much right away. If you need repairs, then take it to a dealer for warranty work. Your choice.
