Hi there

I have a problem with the small compartment on my C180 (located directly behind the electric mirror switches and in front of the centre console storage area), the little cover does not retract properly.

I have had a poke around to see how to get to the mechanism of this, with no luck, how should I tackle this?

Do I need to remove the entire centre console? Where are the screws located if this is the case? Or can I just get to the inards of the compartment with out taking half the interior apart?

Any suggestions?

My best suggestion is to buy Haynes Service and Repair Manual that covers models: C180, C200, C220, C230 and C250. Manual is cheap and savings is you can only imagine. Removal of centre console is explained in details.
