Default 1994 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C280 Sedan

Hi, I am looking at a 1994 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C280 Sedan. I was wondering if anyone could inform me of any problems, or anything that might arise with this car. It has but only 70k miles on it. It is an automatic. Excellant condition as far as I can tell (Taking it into the mechanic tomorrow for inspection.) I'm a college student so I can't afford to have too many problems go wrong with it. Everything felt fine during the test drive other than the check engine light coming on, but could be something as simple as a regular checkup needing to be done. Car is in immaculate shape under the hood, interior and exterior. Thanks for any information. -Brandon

Live like a king, pay like a king.
If you are concerned that repairs will cost too much.....well, this is a realistic concern.
If you can maintain the car yourself, the parts (most of the mechanical parts) are not that much. However, if an electrical control unit goes out ( and there are many) they can cost anywhere from $800-$2000. Labor costs are extreamly high on MBs due to their complexity.
So... if you are choosing between a 2002 Focus or a '94 MB and you can't take a repair cost hit. better go with the Focus (just an example)

If I were you, I'll buy a Corolla for $2,500. Much safer in terms of unexpected repair cost. Benz is not for a poor student.

1994 with 70k, there are parts inside the car that are lined up to break or replaced.
Toyota will be a more wiser approach.
Drive cheap today...then finish school earn good money...then reward yourself
with newer model....

all good views ^
The check engine light should be of concern also!
there is a few known problems with these cars and it could be linked to a engine wiring problem.
if this is what you want be very cautious.
things of concern that u should check out before u buy.
It will need a new engine wiring harness at some time and possibly a new head gasget and these generally happen around this stage.
get these checked^
but i have a c280 and love it :-)
