Hello, I have an 02 c320 that I need a part for, but the local mercedes dealer near me couldn't locate what I need.

I am not exactly sure what it would be called, but I am looking for a the plastic retainer or what ever holds the ignition switch into the dash panel. I have looked and looked and can not find anything. It looks like it is a trim piece. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Because right now it just hangs inside the dash and is a real pain the butt. Thanks for the help

 

try another dealer. thats ridiculous they cant find it. it pretty straight forward.

 

That's what I said, even though the guy said he was looking at a parts breakdown and couldn't find it.

I will try another dealer to get a p/n cause we only have one local dealer.

I tried my local mercedes dealer and after sitting on the phone for 20 minutes he asked for my number to call me back and never did. So I tried to call back, and I have to leave a message? no hold or nothing. So I thought maybe another dealer, so I went to call the only other dealer around and of course they are connected and I got the same machine. Kind of upsetting honestly. I would not think this piece of trim or what ever is would be this hard to find.

 

Does anyone know of a mercedes forum, where the members have information to share? I figured some guru would have just spouted out a p/n. But I guess this part is as ilusive as the dealer makes it seem.
