Hi Clay,
Welcome to the W203 C240 club as we are unique. With our home computers we have Plug and Play,When we insertthe C240 Ign key, it should be Plugand Pray. First your alternater should charge at idle especially if the battery is down, that's why they got rid of generators years ago. I assume the person who changed the battery knewthere is only one procedure to disconnect the battery on these cars and if this is not done correctly youmay have expensive problems, I am told it usuallyblows the SAM in the rear fuse box. It's in the owners manual. I can only suggest an old method to test battery drain which works for me when I checked evrything else. With the ignition key out and everything else switched off, doors shutetc, put an ampmeter between the battery negative post and battery negative cable. The ampmeter is polarity concious so should be connected the right way round.Holdone end of the ampmeter cable on the negative post and other ampmeter cable on the negative clamp so that when you remove the clamp from the terminal you do not have an open circuit. This will keep the circuit closed and you will not have to reset everythingwhen youreconnect. You will then be able to read any battery drain on the ampmeter. There may be a small drain just for the alarm. If there is a large drainshowing, go to the fuse boxe and pull out each fuseone at a time.Guess what ! there is more than one fuse box,I believe there are 3,one in the trunk, one at the end of the dash drivers side, to access open door and pull out coveron end of dashand one under the hood, drivers side in front ofthe windscreen, LHD vehicles. When you pull the fuse on the circuit which is causing the drain you will see the meter go to zero Then you will have to decide whether you can fix it youself or call in an Auto electrician. Also there is no point in testing a battery when it is flat, your local store should put it on charge for 24 hours and then test it.
Hope this helps.

JUST WANTED TO TELL EVERYONE WHAT I FOUND OUT ON FRIDAY.. THE REBUILT ALT THAT I
GOT FROM AUTO ZONE WAS BAD. I TOOK THE ALT OFF THE VEHICEL AND GOT A SECOUND
ALT FROM AUTO ZONE..... GUESS WHAT THE SECOUND ALT WAS BAD TO.. NEEDLESS TO SAY
I WAS VERY UPSET!! I GOT ALL MY MONEY BACK FOR THE BATTERY AND ALT. SO AFTER ALL THATI WENT AND GOT A BOSCH ALT IT WORKED RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY FURTHER BATTERY DRAINWITH THE AMPMETER. NO DRAIN FOUND. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!
I HAVE JUST ONE MORE THING TO ASK. THIS VEHCIEL THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS NOT AND IT ONLY THINKS THAT IT IS OPEN WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD
EVEN WHEN ALL THE DOOR ARE LOCKED IT THINKS THE PASS SIDE FRT DOOR IS OPEN.
THE ALARM WORKS PROPERLY AND THE VEHILE GO'S TO SLEEP NO LIGHT STAY ON LIKE WOULD HAPPEN IF THE DOOR WAS REALY OPEN. ANY ONE HAVE A IDEA WHAT COULD BE WRONG?
