Default B Class B200 CDI

My car is a February 2006 registration and has done just 21,000 miles. I am getting a strange judder or misfire at about 1,500 to 2,000 rpm.

A friend has had the same problem and it seems that this a fault of the car, and MB reset the ECU.

My question is A) is this information correct, and B) with such low mileage and as a MB fault, should the rectification br free of charge?

Has any one had any knowledge on how to sort this out?
