current CTSV driver, considering C55 as a replacement......
My current D.D. is a 2005 CTSV with a 408ci stroker, 515 rwhp. Thne majority of my day is spent in LA traffic and looking for a nice quick automatic replacement. I'm wondering what the real world fuel economy is that you guys see with the C55. Also, any issue(s) that seem to plague the car? My last Benz was a 2000 CLK 430, nice car, just needed 4 doors for car seats. Thanks!

RE: current CTSV driver, considering C55 as a replacement......
I have an 01 CLK 55 AMG. I live 45 miles 1 way from work. Door to door mpg that is mostly highway I got 25.8 mpg and averaging 72 mph. GenerallyI average 21.6 highway and city combined. Nice thing about the Benz automatics is they generally stay in the 2000 rpm range under normal driving (not beating on it). At least that is what is see in mine.
I also have a copy of the April 2007 Consumer Reports car buying guide. It rates the 01 through 06 C class as worse than average. No that's just there average for the years. the 05 and 06 looked pretty good in thir ratings. But I guess you have to take these reports with a grain of salt.
