HEllo everyone.
My first post here.
I'm deciding to buy or not to buy. This is 95 AMG C36 with approximatelly 130K on it. In a pretty good shape.
Asking price is 9000 . What should I look at ? is there're any known problems that could occure ?
WHat do you think about price ?
THank you

Most parts are the same as a regular c-class and everythig that isnt you can always get from a dealer. Mercedes can supply almost any part for any car they ever made.

thank you. Guess prices on those parts are not cheap at all
I'm bringing my mechanic there, i love the car, but ther're some oil on the bottom of engine, doesn't look like it's constantly dripping, but I don't want it to be some major repair

Oil leaking from the head is a problem and requires a head removal for a gasket change.
Head removal can cause damage to wiring on cars built by Mercedes between 1992 and 1995 due substandard biodegardable insulation.
Wiring problems with the old insulation require a new engine wiring harness. Most cars probably have the updated wiring loom by now?
Transmission should change smoothly without clunks or hard changes.
Steering should be checked for lower control arm bushing wear and general wear which will require a new drag link assembly. Steering damper is a cheap and easy fix.
Timing chain rattles or "my C36 sounds like a deisel at idle" sounds require a new chain tensioner, or possibly a serpentine drive belt tensioner.
90% of parts are from the standard C Class and are as cheap as chips. The AMG bits can be expensive.
A good C36 is a wonderful machine!

Hello everybody, this is my first post. I own C36 1994/5 in Indonesia. it's been awhile I have these problems and all dealers and mercedes garages here don't have the right answers . my cars' problems are : engine sounds like diesel, but the most irritating me is when engine got to warm/normal hot temp. it become lack of power, but when it is cold/ first start the engine in the morning the power is awesome but about 30 minutes or so later power become less.
I would really appriciate it if some one could answer my questions. thanks in advance.

ok thank you. actually the one I'm looking at is 97, so shouldn't have viring problem.
Just contacting MErcedes today to get their letter to import it into Canada.
Might sound like 2 different cars, but just debating right now between this one and isuzu vehicross. I personly prefere AMG for sure, but my other half more into another one. Just need to find few more arguments to convince her lol
Anyone who had/drove these 2 cars ? lol

Well though i have never had a vehicross but i have owned two isuzus a 1990 trooper and a 1999 Rodeo they were both very good vehicles so u will not be disappointed in either car u buy so good luck. The only reason i dont have the rodeo as a daily driver anymore is because it was wrecked and now i only drive it offroad and i sold the trooper with 200k and ran great but it needed a heater and i wanted a new style car b4 i went to college. i'd love to have that trooper back now.
