What kind of leather do Mercedes use in their cars now and days? While shopping I notice that if I wanted to replace the interior of my 1989 MBZ 560SEL (even though I don't need to.) it would be expensive. What grade of leather was used back then?

leather is cheap...about $1.25/sqft. you only need 12sqft.

before they also use the combination of leather and vinyl backing. takes only 8sqft.
