Just bought a 1996 SL 500. Windshield washer does not work. Car was in storage and wonder if all they need is primed. Anyone know how to troubleshoot this problem? Thanks

 

first thing to look is the pump. the motor always get corroded/bind and cannot turn anymore.

also have a multimeter onhand. check if there is a voltage on the connector (of the wiring harness) each time you actuate the washer.

IS THIS FOR THE REAR WINDOW BY ANY CHANCE? I HAVE A E320 WAGON, MY TROUBLE WAS A CRACKED LINE IN THE HEAD LINER OF THE CAR.
