Windshield wipers not working
Hi Guys
My brother has a 2003 e500 and His wipers just seemed to die out. Two weeks ago he had trouble with them. He was a stop sign and the wipers were on and he hit the left turn signal and the wipers just stoped. Then he hit the turn signal back to rest and the wipers worked. Then he tried the right side same thing happened as the left side. the wipers would not go up. Then we tried to put the wipers on High speed same thing, with the turn signal on, it does not work, withthe turn signaloff it worked.
Just today it doesnt want to do anything. Not even move, I dont hear the motor trying to run or anything. doesanyone know what this might be from or if this has happened to anyone. Thanks

This has to be in the switch assembly which is also known as the stalk. As the previous poster pointed out his was cut in one spot, likely by wear.
When you replace the old one look for signs or wear on the wiring. You need to then protect the new one by wrapping the wires with electrical tape or by installing a plastic loom shield.
Clearance may be a problem here, so don't go crazy on the shielding. There is not much room inside a steering collume and what room is in there is likely being used already.
Let us know what you find out if you can. Others are likely to need this info in the future.
