Default WD40 on breaks?

Ok so my neighbor just bought a 2005 Mercedes C320 Coupe with like 13,000 miles. Good for her I say. but she has squeaky breaks just like I have on my 2000 C280 Sport. She is a young girl who goes out late and when she comes home at like 3ish or whatever time it is i hear a sqeak and it is loud and annoying just like on my c280. So today we were talking and she told me she put WD40 on the break pads to stop the squeak. Is that ok to do? Put WD40 on your breaks? Call me dum but I have neer herd of anyone doing this before.

Car probably has non Merecedes brand pads on it. Most aftermarket pads will squeal. And no, WD40 should NEVER! be used on brakes. The use of MB brand pads and the anti squeal paste will most likely cure the complaint. If I were you, I would use the spellcheck feature on your computer!

"Car probably has non Merecedes brand pads on it." Mercedes by the way. looks like that makes two of us that need spellcheck. Thanks for the input also.

Like he said, get the antisqueel paste and apply it and you should not have a problem, and yes the aftermarkets almost alway squeek.

Even mercedes pads will squeel. Go to the parts department and get some brake pad past. Ask for the gold stuff wit the 163 part#, it comes in a tube like toothpaste.Put it on the metal edges of the backing, on the back of the pad where it contacts the piston and caliper. I always clean and lube the pin and the anti rattle clip. basicly clean and lube all the contact points of the backing and caliper. DO NOT put anything on the wear part of the pad. this is to work on friction and will cause braking problems.
