W-126 Taillights not working
I need some troubleshooting specifics for the above. All other lights in rear work fine. The "lamp failure" indicator in the dash is ON. Fuses are O.K. and bulbs are new. Car is a 1986 420 SEL "Grosser Mercedes" US model.

make sure u not have any american bulbs in the vehicle, then figure out when it comes on, start car with out foot on brake, press brake does light come on, then turn light switch to first postion, does light come on, also check your license plate bulbs, note using american type bulbs that fit have diff. watts and cause light to come on if all is good lamp out control relay is faulty.

W-126 Taillights not working
HI. My license plate light, rear side markers, brake lights, and turn signals work. I replaced the bulbs with the correct, European-spec bulbs. When I start the car, the lamp-failure indicator does not come on until I apply the brake the first time, then it stays on. I thought about the ground at the left wheel well, but everything else which grounds there works. Thanks for reply.
