Just wanted to start off by saying thanks for all the help so far on the posts I have made. It's really helping me narrow down a good solid car.

I'm in the process of buying a used car and one of the cars I'm going to look at is a 1999 E430 sport with 104k miles.

I was just curious if you guys could tell me what are some key items you would check. I'm considering paying for a mobile inspection company to look at the car, but I'd like to see if I can check some things first before spending my money on that.

Also, if the dealer doesn't have maintenance records...I heard there is a way to find out if the car has had it's 90k maintenance done...some kind of code you punch in and it tells you? Am I crazy...or does this sound familiar?
