Unimpressed so far
I recently bought a 220 CDI C Class i paid a fair price for it £7200.00 thinking in my innocence that an older merc would be more relaible. So it's had its first B service, feeling £1200.00 lighter in the pocket and after a few thousand miles its now due its A service not a problem except, I now have to replace the ECU and SAM unit ! another £1400.00 its so comforting to know merc have sorted the problem of water corroding the SAM unit so it wont short out the ECU terrific of course Merc not interested due to my cars age, But I wont be hanging on to my merc anytime soon whats next a new engine... Car has not covered 100k miles yet but everyone tells me mercs last for virtually ages ?
How about maybe the car was wrecked once, or more, flooded, abused, whatever? You paid 1,200 for B service? Jeez.
My current DD has 218,000 miles on the clock, gets 27mpg on the highway and I intend to go to 350,000 miles. 2001 E430 Sport.
Wife's 1997 C280 sport has 147,000 on it. Still running fine.
All the other cars have well over 150,000 miles on them, and all run well and are reliable.
