I'm thinking about purchasing a 1974 mercedes 280c... it runs, but has problems changing gears *its an automatic* my bf drove it, but it won't shift out of first gear. Could this be a kick down cable problem? Or does the transmission need to be replaced? If so, does anyone know how much it would cost? I need info ASAP!!!

 

Probably around $2000.00 plus labor. About $1600 just for the trans.
