Hi, i have recently totaly renovated an Mercedes-Benz mb100d karmann 1990model, and done a full mechanical service. Now i would like to upgrade the suspension system and register this nice camper to 3500kg, and upgrade to turbo or change the engine with a turbo engine.

I wondered if anybody know either how to upgrade the current 631 2.9d 72hp engine or options for a turbo engine replacement?

And also if anybody has any experience or ideas on how to upgrade the suspension i would like to hear it.

Here is some pictures with the work so far, and after ive done the suspension and the engine i will do a good paint job on the outside of the Mercedes-Benz karmann camper.

there is turbo cherger kit which requires modification of motor support
you need to look for in internet

 

For the engine look into the OM602 or OM603 turbo diesel engines. They're a bit more powerful and could be a good swap.

 

Hi! What an inspirational renovation! I am just hanging in mine here on the Croatian coast, 1994 model.
It is in pretty good condition but want to renovate some parts. My mechanic struggled to find some parts as there are not many of these cars in Slovenia and near.

Where could i find back lights (electrician had to solder the wires to laps lol) and container for breaking fluid.
Ill have to take out the whole front part of the cabin ( dont know how it is called) to take out the motor for ventilation and restore the motor. The problem is the "cockpit" is broken because of the sun and i know it will break in half when i take it out... ill have to mend that as well.
