Yeah, I wish I still had my Honda Civic sometimes. That thing only had about three moving parts and they never broke or got bent.

The only things, that were going bad on all of my Mercedes-es were rubber parts, like seals and lately harmonic balancers were replaced with recall. I inspected the balancer on the wagon, that run for 87,000 miles and it had small crack on the rubber, but still solid, so the recall was more preventive in my opinion.
Can't admit how much short ownership of 12-cylinder BMW cost me.

Weight in towards the centre of the wheel does not affect balance as much as on the rim edge or even more so the tread area. Locking bolts will cause no probs.

You're exactly correct. It has to do with moments of inertia. The closer to the middle, the less of the effect.
Wheel bolt locks are negligible as far as the rotating mass goes.
