Need help big time, I have a 87 560SL with 130K miles. Car is rarely driven and lately it became really hard to start. I read on the forum somewhere that I should clean out the ICV which I did, it was really full of crap. The car now starts 100% better but runs 95% worse. At idle it seems as though its missing like a bad plug or something but it ran great on the highway. Now the idle is about the same but it seems to "miss" all the time and has no power. I removed all the injectors and they looked good. I also sprayed carb cleaner around all the injectors after I reinstalled them and found no leaks. I am assuming that the injectors all pipe directly into the injector pump. Can I remove this and clean it out or repair it myself. I am not a master mechanic but an not stranger to engine repairs. Also, there are a few thing on the engine that I cannot identify, where can I get info or a picture telling me in plain language what is what? All help really appreciated. Thanks, Kelly.

 

How are your plug wires? If they're worn out they could be shorting and causing your miss.

 

The "look" good but who knows. I think I'll fire it up later and look at night. Thanks
