Default Rough Idle

1994 SL 500.......The car idles rough the first couple of minutes and then smooths-out...only after it sits for a couple of hours or first thing in the morning....The car just started doing this and I have sprayed cleaner on the MAF/MAS...no help. New air filters and checked everything possible in the engine compartment...nothing helps yet. Today, she just stumbled at the street signal light and died. Started right bach up tho. Any ideas from you techies will be greatly appreciated. Thanks from an old mechanic who feels pretty stupid right now !! Bill

ttt
Anybody had this problem and solved it? It is really driving me nuts..hate to take to a dealer and have to leave overnight so they can put it on diagnostic equipment...I live 75 miles away from the nearest dealer/shop.
Thanks,
Bill

My 86 190E has a very rough idle, almost to a point that it seems like the engine is shaking. I remember hearing that it can easily be a vacuum tube problem. But i'm not really sure to what extent.

use the carburetor cleanerto spray around all your vacuum hoses and injectors while the car is idling. if there is a change in rpm there is a leak and there may be more than one. Ihave thesame problem, but mine only idles rough for a few seconds after she sets for an hour or more. I've replaced all vacuum hoses and injector seals in the past few months because therewere leaks and that can cause abunch of problems. So now I have new injectors coming in on Wednesday (hopefully) to take of this new problem. leaky injectors can cause this problem, why your rigtakes so long to smooth out is a puzzle. Basics first, check for vacuum leaks. Iwill inform later this week if the injectorswork for me.
