Default rodent damage?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with rodent damage to their high pressure a/c hose?? My air conditioner went out a week or so ago and my repair place is saying this problem is due to rodents chewing on the hose....It is a bit suspicious to me as I bought the car used from a Honda dealership + extended warranty and it seems odd that I have never had, as of now, any other problems with rodent damage on my other vehicles and my car is typically parked on the street not in a garage at night. I tried doing some research and I saw a lot of rodent damage incidents to wiring but nothing that specifically mentioned the same problem as mine. I am a poor college student and the 600 to get this fixed is so painful compared to my warranty deductible! Any insight???

If it looks chewed on it probably was. Squirrles chew through propane lines on campers all the time.
