Replacing Waterpump Tomorrow PICTURES ADDED
Hey all.
I posted a question a couple of days ago asking for advice on leaking coolant and over heating in my w210 1996 E200. Thanks to those who posted some advice.
In a follow up to that question, I've found that the leak isn't as simple as I hoped it would be, unfortunately, it's the water pump. Strangely I only figured this out when I was changing the front disks and had to use a little gentle persuasion in the form of a lump hammer. when I'd finished beating the living cr@p out of the fused disk, water was somehow POURING out of the fuel pump.
Now I have to replace so if anyone has an idiots guide I'd really appreciate it!!
Thanks again all!

RE: Replacing Waterpump Tomorrow
remove the top bolt of the alternator be careful not to go to fast they do strip out frequently. then remove the fan if you have one there then take off the waterpump pulley and the belt. its really pretty simple. 3 different torx sizes will be needed.

Thanks Chassis221
Just finished a few minutes ago. I didnt see your message before I started.
For anyone who wants to know, what I did was remove the radiator and cowlings to give me better access to the pump, removed the propelers from the fan body, removed all the bolts I could from the waterpump housing, and removed it.
I had to go get help seperating the pump from the fan clutch but after that was done I had everything back to gether again in about an hour. The self tensioner pully is such a good idea!!
It appears to have fixed the problem so lets keep the fingers crossed. I'll add some pictures tonight
