Regular Oil vs. Synthetic

Everyone loves a good oil questionaire, there are as many opinions as there are people out there as to which brand or weight to use. I've been a big fan of synthetics for about 15 years now. I currently use Mobil 1 0W-40 in my cars but I've also used Amsoil along with several others. I use synthetics in my engine, transmission, rear-diff, and power steering. Ok, maybe I'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to synthetics but I do run my cars hard and I want the best protection money can buy. So what does everyone else here use andhas anyone done an oil analysis lately??

Dale,

Two of my family members use Amsoil in their vehicles and one of them told me of the classic horror story ... the service center tech failed to replace the oil fil cap after providing an oil change - unauthorized I might add. This was at a dealer and to make matters worse, replaced synthetic Amsoil with regular. After a roadtrip when much of the oil had blown out, surprisingly, no damage to the motor is evident. Amsoil has been replaced to the motor and it's running fine.

I've used MobilOne for years and love it. I'm very good friends with a top distibutor for Wynn's Oil. Their products seem exceptional as well. Check out their website at www.wynnsusa.com

Mobil 1 fan and user here. I like synthetics in general. What's not to like? They're superior. No breakdown, no sludge.

A lot more classic cars would be alive and kickin'today if we had had synthetics availablebackin their day.

You know my vote is for Synthetics. Let me know if you have any questions about AMSOIL or comparisons to other oils. I'll post em here if you like. Hell, I'll post em anyway. Just for fun.

I've read a comparison with synthetics to organic oil and the main and probably most important is that synthetics molecules are all exactly the same size and smaller than organic which tend to vary in size dramatically. I have used syntehtic for years and won't use anything else.

semi synthetics is better than no synthetic, but why stop there. If your gonna protect your engine, your better off in the long run to just go full synthetic.
