Hi, I have a problem that my engine run too hot! I have flushed the cooling system, replaced the temperature regulator (and checked that it works). I have also replaced the viscuis fan regulator, but it doesnt seem to help much...
Winter time is not a problem, but in summer:
From cold start, and onto the highway, it build up normal temperature quit normal - up to about 92 deg.C, and then the valve opens, and the temp. fall down to about 85deg.C (as it should do). The problem occur when I'm stuck in traffic, and drive very slowly. Then the temp raise to +105deg.C. I then have to put on the heater to avoid over-temp. Under the hood I can still hold back the fan with my hand if in idle, shouldn't it be stuck at that temp? I have no problem doin mechanical work, but this one' I cannot find out easily!
Please advice!

 

...Had the engine top off, and the problem was that the gasket where leaking. I gave the top away for have it milled. Put it back on, and PERFECT! The engine got good temp. reading in hot weather, and runs very smooth, can't feel the engine running, very happy with that repair job, its like new!
...But sold the car now, got an 2001 Renault Laguna from my dad, and bought an 450SL 1971 instead!

The C180 where sold! -After getting the top off, and a new gasket it ran perfectly! A shame that a got a free Laguna from my dad, really! Well, I couldnt live with a family car all year around, so for the summer time I bought an 450SL 1971, YEAH!
