Default P0115 Diagnostic Code

My 2000 ML320 SUV is overheating when the needle passes 80. The mechanic who looked at my car suggested getting a engine temperature coolant sensor due to the P0115 diagnostic code. Is that a part I can order from the dealership or online? Does that diagnosis seem accurate?

Default RE: P0115 Diagnostic Code

Hi
P0115 is a temperature sensor CIRCUIT malfunction.
Could be the sensor but could also be the wiring.
Don't suppose the sensor will be more than a few dollars so i would look at the sensor connector and then go ahead with a new sensor.

Stuart.
