Default In over my head???

I've owned my 02 C240 for one year this month. I bought it from a Chicago Bentley dealership and at the time thought I got a deal...but would have paid any amount (within reason) to get it. It is my baby and I love it. I'm just beginning my career and love the reactions I get when people see a young women driving to such a beautiful car.

So, I'm not a millionaire and my check engine light seems to have a mind of it's own the last few weeks. We have had sub-zero temps and I know I have a sin for taking it out of the garage. The Service B prompt was on when I picked up the car...they assured me they throughly inspected the vehicle (beyond the service B inspection) and changed the oil the day I picked her up...but failed to re-set the annoying notice.

Just this week the display says my light sensor and SOS are in fault. I do not want to sell my car, but I don't want to go broke either! Any cheap solutions??

One more issue...3 times in the past week when I shift into drive the car feels like it 'jumps'. Similar as if you shifted into drive while coasting?!?!

Is it a jump at first? What about when the car is warmed up? Does it do it then?
