Hi All,
Just purchased a 2003 SL500 with 59000 miles. The “AC OFF” lamp is on and when the button is pushed it blink a few time and keep stay on. I think the AC system is the problem, if anyone can email me (hxh_ym@yahoo.com) the diagnostic procedure or what to check for the AC would be appreciated. There are no CEL codes (no malfunction codes), the car seems to drive normal, just no AC cold air. That is for now, hope you can help out.
Thanks,
Hung

Hi, I have the same problem with mine. It's a 2006 and has dual temperature dials. The driver side ac vents do not blow cold air until it's been driving for at least 20 minutes or so. The right side vents blow out cold air within 5 minutes of running the car. I realize I am in Florida and the weather is hot here but i've had other cars - Isuzu's to Honda's and never the ac problems this one has. You'd expect more from a Mercedes.
Hope someone out there can help.
