Just bought my first mercedes (1997 E420). I was having it detailed today when the guy (a co-worker of mine) called me to see that the passenger side mirror was really loose. You were able to fold it in with little pressure. After some investigation I notice that the spring was in place but only one side was hooked (the side that hooks to the mounting bracket). I tried to lead the other end into the whole that it appears to go in but with little success. Has any one had any success with this? Do I need to remove the three screws and remove the mirror completely to get this spring back on? Again my first mercedes so I am freaking out a little.
